Second Update - World Health Organization (WHO) running tabulations of number of infections and deaths in West Africa from August 8th to October 10th 2014.

Second Update Notes

I am using The World Health Organization numbers as they may be the most reliable if not underreported statistics gathered at this time.

On August 8th according to WHO's statistics 961 people died from an infected population of 1,779 people in West Africa. That is a death rate from the known infected population of  54%.

Now on October 10th according to WHO 4,033 people died from an infected population of 8,339 West Africa inhabitants.  That is a death rate from the known infected population of 48%.

A cursory examination of the graph and percentages shows the infection numbers seems to be growing faster than the number of deaths from Ebola. This may be due to omissions in reportage, a change in the gathering of figures or an actual increase of Ebola transmissions.

The number of deaths from Ebola increased by 320% from August 8th to October 10th.
The number of Ebola infected people in West Africa  increased by 372% from August 8th to October 10th.
